Inclusive Employment Training (CPD Accredited)
Inclusive Employment Training
Inclusive Employment Training supports organisations to attract, support, and retain disabled employees by addressing the barriers that exist throughout the employment lifecycle. Toucan’s disability inclusion training helps employers create inclusive recruitment practices, accessible hiring processes, and develop workplaces where disabled staff can thrive and stay long term.
Toucan’s Inclusive Employment Training explores the common challenges faced by disabled employees and provides practical, solution-focused guidance on making reasonable adjustments in the workplace. Participants will gain the confidence and skills needed to identify adjustments that remove barriers and improve productivity, wellbeing, and job satisfaction. The training also strengthens understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) responsibilities and UK disability employment legislation.
Participants who attend the Inclusive Employment Training will learn how Access to Work funding can be used to support disabled employees with adjustments such as specialist equipment, workplace support, transport, and mental health assistance. By maximising the use of Access to Work, organisations can reduce costs while ensuring employees receive the support they need to succeed.
This training also focuses on retaining disabled staff, highlighting how inclusive workplace practices, proactive disability support, ongoing reasonable adjustments, and open communication lead to higher retention rates, reduced staff turnover, improved employee engagement, and a more diverse, inclusive workforce.
Toucan has an online Access to Work Guide course for further training.
Group Size: 15 ideally, 20 max
Training Duration: Half day (4 hours) or full day with 2 x 2.5 hour (bespoke version)
Inclusive Employment Training
Disabled people face discrimination when looking for employment. Though there have been improvements, disabled people are twice as likely to be unemployed than non-disabled people. Our Inclusive Employment Training will give employers a better understanding of the daily challenges disabled people face when working. Toucan Diversity CIC is a Disability Confident Leader and is keen to support organisations in creating a more diverse workforce.
To find out more about the Disability Confident Scheme go to the government website. We are here to help you.
