Invisible Disability Awareness
Invisible disability awareness training will look at impairments that are not immediately physically visible. It is estimated that around 83% of the UK’s disabled population have invisible disabilities. Only 17% of disabled people were born with a disability and only 8% are wheelchair users. This course will give you a better understanding of how to support a person with invisible disabilities. This will include your employees, colleagues, customers, volunteers, pupils, and service users.

Invisible Disability Awareness

This course will give you a better understanding of how to support a person with invisible disabilities.
This Invisible Disabilities Awareness training will be delivered by one of our accredited trainers who has several invisible disabilities.
- Discuss and examine types of Invisible disabilities.
- Compare statistics of invisible and other disabilities to highlight their frequency.
- Discuss own impairments, and how they affect everyday life.
- Discuss and examine effective means of supporting a friend or colleague with an invisible disability.
Invisible Disability Awareness Training Outcomes:
- Participants gain a greater understanding of what constitutes an Invisible Disability.
- Participants gain a better understanding of the law in relation to how it protects individuals with invisible disabilities.
- To achieve a greater understanding of how invisible disabilities can impact an individual’s life and that of their family/friends/colleagues.
- To support attendees in gaining the skills to better support people with unseen disabilities.
