Pippa’s story

Pippa has an energy-limiting condition called ME/CFS. It’s a chronic illness with a broad range of symptoms, though she feels very lucky to have experienced some improvements in her condition over the last few years.

At university Pippa studied BSc Psychology in Education, and completed a PgDip in Health Psychology. After graduating in 2017, she secured an internship with an amazing disability charity and spent the next few years employed (part-time, due to her health) in the charity sector. However, soon after she started her blog, her writing and media work began to take off. Pippa is currently self-employed, something that didn’t happen overnight, and has led to truly incredible opportunities.

She’s also an ambulatory wheelchair user, which means that she uses different mobility aids on different days. Sometimes she’ll be using a manual wheelchair, other times her power chair, and other times you’ll see her using no aids at all. She shares her thoughts on this below:

“Using mobility aids helps me to better pace myself and manage my condition, and in doing so has also completely transformed my quality of life.”
